David Duchovny has joined the cast of The Exiles, a new crime thriller from director Midi Z, inspired by a real-life crime in Southeast Asia.
Filmed in Taiwan, the movie also stars Sam Worthington and Wu Ke-xi, and follows a Westerner seeking a better life in Asia, where greed, rivalry, and ego ultimately lead to murder.
According to Midi Z, the story draws inspiration from both a true crime case and Joseph Conrad's novel Heart of Darkness. The film marks the director's English-language debut and is currently in post-production.
The movie will most likely be released next year.
